Hundreds of Druse gathered Tuesday in the Golan Heights, expressing support for Syrian President Bashar Assad on 30 anniversary of the Israeli vote to annex of the former Syrian territory.
Demonstrators held portraits of the Syrian president, calling on him to continue to "his struggle against the Syrian opposition," according to Army Radio.
Assad has been battling anti-government protesters in Syria since March of last year, in a conflict that has resulted in the deaths of over 5,500 people.
