IDF investigating an incident earlier this week in which its soldiers beat up a barefoot Palestinian suspect on the street in Hebron.

Since Friday, Palestinian assailants have attempted at least four attacks against security forces in that city, wounding at least two soldiers.

On Tuesday, a photographer for the Associated Press Francois, took a series of photographs of soldiers stopping an unarmed Palestinian man in Hebron. They are seen kicking him and pushing him to the ground.

The IDF said in a statement that "in accordance with the security assessment following the latest terrorist incidents in the city of Hebron, and due to security considerations, checks are being carried out in the area. During a routine check, a Palestinian seen in the video came under suspicion, and refused to undergo a check. Security forces arrested the suspect. The conduct of the forces is being checked, and the incident is under investigation."
