Iran and Russia are set to sign an agreement on the construction of a new nuclear plant in the Islamic Republic, Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi as saying on Sunday.

"Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful, it serves the interests of satisfying the country’s demand in electricity, and also medical purposes," Salehi said.
