The Knesset honored heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising on Tuesday.
The move, which was initiated by MK Uri Orbach (Habayit Hayehudi), was the first time the Knesset has honored those who, despite their severe lack of weapons, carried out the largest Jewish uprising in the Holocaust.
The revolt, which began on January 18, 1943, attempted to prevent the Nazis from transporting the ghetto population to the Treblinka extermination camp.
