MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) has criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for his decision to temporarily freeze settlement construction. Eldad told Army Radio on Wednesday that Netanyahu had betrayed the trust of the electorate. The premier, he added, had promised to advance construction in the H1 area between Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim, but failed to do so. Therefore, the prime minister will not keep his promise to renew construction in ten months, Eldad said. He added that the vehicles rented for the inspectors meant to implement the building stoppages in settlements were leased for a two-year period.
