Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu indicated that he would do everything possible to pass the 2013 state budget and avoid initiating an early election at a festive post-Rosh Hashana dinner with Likud MKs and their spouses at his official residence in Jerusalem on Thursday night.

"To continue getting things done and to remain an island of economic stability, we must pass a responsible budget," Netanyahu said. "I spoke to the heads of the coalition factions, and they all said they want [to pass the budget]. If we want to, we can give Israel a year of stability."

Netanyahu praised the parties in his government, saying that he had an extraordinary coalition.
