Shas Party spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef is not angry with former Shas leader Arye Deri, despite his plans to form a new socioeconomic party that could compete for votes with Shas ahead of the next general election, Yosef told the haredi web site 'Behadrei Haderim.'
Yosef said he and Deri have a relationship of respect.
The web site described Yosef as torn between Deri, who it called "his first love" and "his current flame" - Shas chairman Eli Yishai.
