Synagogue employee arrested for indecent acts with minors

Jerusalem police on Thursday announced that they had arrested a 45 year-old resident of the capital on suspicion of sexually abusing nearly a dozen minors over recent years, during the man’s tenure as an employee at an area synagogue.

During questioning, the man admitted to investigators that he had raped the ten minors repeatedly while working at the synagogue, where they would arrive for prayer. The man, whose identity has not been released, added that he had offered the minors money in exchange for the indecent acts.

The man was brought before a Jerusalem District Court judge on Thursday morning for an extension of his remand.
