Turkey welcomes Israel's cooperation with flotilla probe

The Turkish government has welcomed Israel's decision to cooperate with the UN's investigation into the May 31 Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in which nine Turkish pro-Palestinian activists were killed, AFP reported Monday.
A Turkish government official reportedly said: "This is a very important decision for Turkey," he said, adding, "This committee is an important step in remedying the injustice Turkey has encountered in the raid."
Heading the committee will be a former New Zealand prime minister and the outgoing Colombian president. Israeli and Turkish representatives will also be included. (AFP)
