Two killed as nighttime tornado strikes Oklahoma town

OKLAHOMA CITY - Two people were killed on Sunday and a number of others were injured when a tornado hit an Oklahoma town after midnight as twisters swept across the US Plains states, a sheriff's spokesman said.
The mayor of the northwest town of Woodward, Roscoe Hill, said an apartment building was badly damaged by the twister, which caught many residents unaware after storm sirens failed to sound.
