US tweaks North Korea on twitter

North Korea may see its new Twitter and You Tube accounts as a prime platform for anti-US propaganda, but the Obama administration says the world's most secretive regime may have bitten off more than it can chew by joining the networked world.
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Tuesday the US welcomed the "Hermit Kingdom" into the world of social media. But he challenged its authoritarian leaders to allow broad access and warned that technology is difficult to shut down once introduced. "Just ask Iran," he said. Iran tried but failed to restrict social media during disputed elections.
Crowley spoke after a North Korean government-run website announced it had opened a Twitter account and a YouTube channel. He made his comments — where else? — on Twitter.
