High Court issues ruling orders Jewish community to set aside plot for couple denied residency.

The High Court of Justice issued on Wednesday a temporary ruling ordering the Jewish community of Rakefet in northern Israel to set aside a plot of land for an Israeli Arab couple who were not allowed to live there because they were "socially unsuitable."
The young couple, who are currently residing in the nearby village of Sakhnin, said they were denied residency only because of their ethnicity.
According to the court's decision, the plot will be set aside until a final decision is made in the case. The court was petitioned on behalf of the couple by the Arab rights organization Adala.
The couple demanded that the regional admission committees, which filter out 'unsuitable' candidates from buying land in Jewish communities around Israel, be cancelled.
