Man who barricaded himself in Turkish embassy in 2010 arrested for TA burglaries

Three and a half years after he barricaded himself inside the Turkish Embassy in Tel Aviv, a Palestinian man from Ramallah was arrested this week on suspicion of burglarizing apartments in Tel Aviv, police said Tuesday.The man, Nadim Injaz, was arrested after police began combing the neighborhood around the Ramat Aviv mall on Monday, after they found what appeared to be stolen goods stashed in a hiding place in the neighborhood. Police said they set up a stakeout on the stash spot and eventually, on Monday morning they found Injaz and an accomplice, also a Palestinian from the West Bank coming to check on the goods. Both men were arrested and taken for questioning.On August 17th, 2010, Injaz made his way into the Turkish Embassy after hours and tried to take embassy workers hostage, wielding a knife and what later turned out to be a fake gun.After hours of negotiations failed, embassy employees eventually overtook and wounded Injaz, who was arrested and taken for treatment. Injaz had worked as a collaborator with Israeli security forces and had asked for asylum while in the embassy.
