IDF bases open to public for Independence Day activities

IAF, Navy bases will hold special events, displays, demonstrations with various fighter jets, helicopters, war vessels throughout country.

In honor of Israel's 63rd Independence Day, the IDF will open several bases to the general public and the Navy and Israel Air Force will hold special demonstrations.
The Israel Navy base in Eilat will be open Monday from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., with a display taking place between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Navy bases in Haifa and Ashdod will be open Tuesday between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will display arms captured by the Navy on-board various smuggling vessels.
The IAF bases in Ramat David, Tel Nof and the Technical College in Haifa will be open on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The bases will display past and present aircraft, helicopter demonstrations, weaponry, search and rescue equipment and various other performances and demonstrations. Food and activities will be available for children.
The IAF Museum in Hatzerim will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with various events and demonstrations.

A Navy showcase will take place along the coast consisting of various naval vessels, including missile ships, security vessels, Naval Commando vessels and a naval helicopter.
Throughout the day, IAF planes and helicopters will hold aerial demonstrations. One demonstration will consist of three Sikorsky CH-53 choppers, another will include three C-130 Hercules airplanes and a combat aircraft demonstration consisting of a Boeing 707 airplane, three F-15I fighter jets, five F-16I fighter jets, five F-16 fighter jets and three Gulfstream V jets.
A helicopter display will take place above the residence of the President and an aerobatic display will take place over the entire country.
