Iran has increased weapons trafficking using Aleppo’s airport to move munitions and weapons to Hezbollah.
The Aleppo International Airport was temporarily closed due to the damage caused by the airstrikes.
The goal was to buttress Iran's defenses against Israel in Syria and to strengthen Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, as per sources.
The UAE president said his country would work with Israel, Arab nations and international partners "to avoid regional escalation."
Several airstrikes attributed to Israel by foreign reports have struck Syria throughout the week. Some reportedly killed IRGC members in the country.
Initial reports indicated that the Dabaa airbase near al-Qusayr was targeted by the strike.
The adviser was identified as Milad Heydari. "The fake and criminal Zionist regime will undoubtedly receive a response to this crime," warned the IRGC.
The US carried out strikes in eastern Syria in response to a drone attack on Thursday that left one American contractor dead.
The attack followed US airstrikes in Syria early Friday morning against Iran-aligned groups that the Pentagon blamed for a drone attack on Thursday.
The intelligence community assessed that the one-way attack drone was Iranian in origin.
