Maj.-Gen. Kamil Abu Rukun, the head of COGAT, explained that Israel could not allow unilateral boycotts that damage the economies of both sides.
Official sources say that discussions are continuing, but in the meantime the lease in Tzofar has been extended for an additional agricultural season, meaning about half a year.
“Israel will not allow boycotts of any kind against Israeli produce,” the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj.-Gen. Kamil Abu Rukun announced on Saturday.
"I don't even want to imagine what would happen if a combine harvester operator is trapped there during a fire," said Ofer Liberman from Kibbutz Nir Am.
