The Abbott company is launching a new product under the name "Similac Alimentum", intended for babies suffering from allergies and digestive problems due to sensitivity to cow's milk protein.

The company claims that for most babies, the product will reduce digestive symptoms resulting from protein sensitivity within 24 hours. Babies suffering from allergies or sensitivities to protein from food may suffer from symptoms such as eczema, runny nose and vomiting.

For these, Similac Alimentum offers a hypoallergenic, lactose-free milk substitute that provides complete nutrition.

The milk protein in the formula has undergone a decomposition process in order to prevent allergic reactions. Babbott talks about studies showing that about 2.5% of all babies develop an allergy to cow's milk protein in the first year of their lives, and that about 10% of babies suffering from colic are sensitive to the protein.

According to the company, in an observational study, all babies who tried Similac Alimentum significantly improved their body weight and consumed an adequate amount of the formula.

Ronit Doev, scientific director of Abbott, the manufacturer of Similac, said that "when babies suffer from food allergies or poor absorption due to protein sensitivity, this worries the parents.

In many cases, Similac Alimentum is a good alternative for the consideration of the caregivers, because it is hypoallergenic and especially developed for high tolerance and easy digestion ".
