If you own an iPhone - go in and download the new update: as you remember, about two weeks ago Apple released the new operating system IOS17.4 which included emojis and new functions for Siri. In the update, two more features were promised - transcription of podcast scripts and protection against theft - which were introduced in the version of the update that went up at the end of the week.

The new version called IOS 17.4.1 is, as mentioned, an update to the previous version. It includes a solution to the complaint of many surfers about rapid battery drain, but also two new components that, as mentioned, were already promised two weeks ago. One concerns protection against theft. This feature, which was already introduced in the previous operating system, prevents someone who would steal the iPhone from entering the device and it will lock outside of it. The iPhone will require additional authentication to access certain information or make changes.

But the particularly exciting feature concerns podcasts: from now on, Apple's podcast application displays transcripts in sync with the audio, meanwhile in English, French, Spanish and German. The text of the podcast is now also searchable. You can also adjust the transcription font by changing the text size. In our testing, the feature does not include additional languages, and is not active in Hebrew podcasts, but it is assumed that this option will be implemented in future versions.

As you remember, the new version also includes new faces in the update that went up two weeks ago: nodding and shaking heads, a phoenix, a mushroom, an opening chain and a lime slice: these are some of the new emojis that are shown in the latest update of the operating system.

Additional updates and bug fixes include displaying caller ID for verified Apple businesses including the company name and logo, music recognition that will allow you to add songs to the library or playlist, Siri announcement of messages in any supported language, and new battery health settings.

As you know, iPhone users who are residents of the European Union receive significant benefits: Apple is bound by the regulations of the Union and will now allow the downloading of applications even outside of the application store, which may significantly reduce some of the costs of the applications and will also allow the download of new applications that were not available in the Apple stores until now.
