120 rockets fired at Israel so far this year

The number of rockets fired at Israel from Januray 2010 till the end of July currently stands at 120, according to an IDF statement released Thursday.

The months with the highest incidences of rocket fire were March and January, with 29 and 27 rockets and mortars launched at Israel, respectively.

After Operation Cast Lead which took place between December 2008 and January 2009 the number of rockets and mortars launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip dramatically reduced.

During the entire year of 2009, only 302 rockets were launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip, compared to 3,684 projectiles being fired in 2008 and during Operation Cast Lead.
