The hypersonic missile-laden Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov arrived in Cape Town on Monday as it traveled to Durban for joint naval drills with South Africa and China on February 17-27, the Russian Cape Town Consulate said.
The Admiral Gorshkov is armed with the new Zircon hypersonic cruise missile. The vessel caused concern among Western officials when it was first deployed to the Atlantic Ocean in January.
