Ashton: Mladic expected to be sent to Hague in 9,10 days

LONDON - Bosnian Serb wartime general Ratko Mladic is expected to be transferred to an international tribunal in The Hague in nine or 10 days, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said on Thursday.

"We all hope that the transfer can be done quickly. There's an extradition procedure ... to go through and we anticipate that he can be transferred, I believe, in about nine, 10 days, is what I'm being told here in Belgrade," Ashton said in an interview with the BBC from Belgrade.
