Dagan: Gov't system no longer serving our values

Former Mossad chief Meir Dagan said Tuesday that the government system is falling apart and no longer serves the values and morals it was meant to serve.
Speaking at a conference in which his Yesh Sikui movement was presenting their outline for changing the government system, Dagan offered the failure of the government to pass a law implementing equality in the service burden as an example of its failure. He said that it was absurd that even though the majority of Israelis want a universal service law the government was unable to pass such legislation.
Dagan decried the current political system's empowering of sectorial interests at the expense of the majority: "I know it sounds bombastic but over time if we continue to focus on sectorial needs our chance of survival is very small."
