Defense Ministry joins efforts to ward-off locusts

The Ministry of Defense has joined efforts to control a swarm of locusts in the Negev after the Ministry of Agriculture failed to do so, Army Radio reported Thursday morning.The Ministry of Defense was asked to assist in spraying areas near military bases and firing ranges.Farmers in the Negev had said billions of locusts were destroying the area, and The Ministry of Agriculture said spraying achieves only partial results.
