Egypt and Jordan slam Shepherd Hotel demolition

Egypt and Jordan criticized Israel Monday on its bulldozing of the old Shepherd Hotel in east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, AFP reported. The two countries also warned against a violent backlash in the wake of the demolition.
Egypt condemned the hotel built by the former mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini. The Egyptian Foreign Affairs issued a statement claiming that continuing Israeli settlement projects will cause a "new explosion of violence" in the West Bank.
