Fire in Golan Heights spreading to Gamla reserve

A large fire broke out in the Golan Heights on Thursday morning, and was spreading towards the Gamla nature reserve, the home of dozens of pairs of Griffon vultures, the largest colony in the country.
Four firefighting teams from Katzrin are trying to prevent the spread of the fire with the aid of nature reserve personnel and soldiers.
The fire started as a result of IDF exercises in the area, aided by the very warm weather.
Nature reserve personnel were evacuating the acclimatization cages of Griffon vultures.
