Florida synagogue vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti

A synagogue under construction in Mont Dora, Florida, was vandalized and graffitied overnight on Friday with what was referred to as “obscene and anti-Semitic graffiti.” “God hates you,” read one phrase, with Satanic imagery also daubed on the building. Mount Dora residents helped the Jewish community clean up the graffiti which the Mayor condemned as “vile and hateful,” local media outlets reported. The incident is being considered a hate crime.
In a similar incident, a synagogue in Danville, Virginia was also vandalized on Thursday night when swastikas were spray-painted on the doors and walkway of the Temple Beth Shalom. In response, anonymous Danville residents placed messages of support in front of the synagogue and helped clear off the graffiti.
