Hospital parking fees to be regulated

After many complaints from hospital visitors that they were overcharged for parking, the Health Ministry acceded to the Knesset Public Complaints Committee and said it would enforce a number of regulations.
These include: Visitors who park for only half an hour will not have to pay; a prominent sign on the right of patients’ first-degree relatives to park for an unlimited time after 30 days of hospitalization must be posted (including those of patients that are moved from one department to another); and the maximum fee will be NIS 20 a day (except for private parking facilities built by entrepreneurs at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem).
