IDF soldier from Gilad Farm will be removed from Kfir unit

A Kfir Brigade soldier in basic training who called a press conference to announce that he will not rejoin the army after his house was demolished on Monday will be given 30 days detention and will be kicked out of his unit, the IDF announced on Wednesday night.

Shimon Weisman, whose house was among those demolished Monday in Gilad Farm, on Monday called a press conference and told reporters that after seeing that his home was destroyed, he would not be returning to the army until he was able to rebuild his home.

During the press conference, Weisman “while I was serving in the IDF to defend the people of Israel, the IDF sent forces to destroy my house and shoot at my friends.”
