Iran: Hamas not invited to NAM summit

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has not been invited to this week's summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran, AFP reported on Sunday.
In a statement quoted by the ISNA and Mehr Iranian state news agencies, Moahmmed Reza Forqani said: "Only (Palestinian president) Mahmoud Abbas has been invited to the NAM summit."
A statement by Hamas spokesmen on Saturday had said that Haniyeh would take part in the summit in Tehran "in accordance with the invitation from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."
The news will come as a relief to Abbas, who agreed to participate in the conference only after he received assurances from the Iranians that he would be allowed to decide on the makeup of his delegation, and would be the sole representative of the Palestinian people.
