Knesset c'tee: Cops must wear ID tags during demonstrations

The Knesset Interior Affairs and Environment Committee approved a bill on Monday that would force police officers to wear identification tags while present at demonstrations.
Currently, police have the freedom to decide whether to identify themselves or not, in accordance with operational considerations.
All uniformed officers will be required to wear tags, while undercover officers will be allowed to operate by senior officers and not local commanders on the ground, the bill said.
