Knesset passes controversial settlement bill

The Knesset on Monday evening passed a controversial bill that offers a 35 percent tax break on donations to non-government groups that encourage settlement anywhere in the country, including in Judea and Samaria.
The bill passed by 33 to 13, after a brief debate.
Its opponents have argued that the bill was designed to give tax breaks to those who support West Bank settlements.
