Lapid: Yesh Atid is not in anyone's pocket

Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid vowed Saturday not to be lured into a government that did not tackle the issues which are important to the middle class in exchange for an important post.
Speaking at a cultural event in Jerusalem, Lapid said that Yesh Atid, which according to a recent Channel 10 poll could win as many as 13 mandates in January's election, would only join a government which was willing to "uproot the culture of sectors."
"We will not join a government that won't go back to the negotiating table, that won't change the [electoral] system, that won't work seriously on the issues which are important to the middle class, a government in which [Foreign Minister Avigdor] Liberman is the defense minister," Lapid stated.
"I am not here for the position. I'm sorry to to tell all the other parties - we are not in anyone's pocket," he added.
