Liam Fox: UK will pursue Libya mandate as long as needed

LONDON - Britain will take part in the Libyan bombing campaign as long as is necessary to fulfill a UN resolution aimed at protecting civilians, UK Defense Minister Liam Fox said.
"There's only one message we should be sending to the [Libyan] regime and that is that we have both the military capability and the resolve to continue pursuing and fulfilling United Nations resolution 1973 as long as is required," he told BBC radio in comments broadcast on Sunday.
Britain and other NATO members have been bombing Libyan military and government targets since March, when NATO intervened under a UN mandate to protect civilians from the forces of Muammar Gaddafi as he fought a revolt against his 41-year rule.
