Livni: Netanyahu not guaranteed to win general elections

Former foreign minister Tzipi Livni on Tuesday promised to fight for the Israeli public, and expressed optimism that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu could lose in the general elections.
"Netanyahu lost yesterday in the Likud and he could lose in the general elections," she said, referencing the Likud's primary elections in which right-wing candidates beat out more moderate ones. "The Israeli people deserve better than a life in between rounds of violence. I decided to fight the political battle so that my son wouldn't have to fight (the military battle). I came to fight for the Israeli people. I came to fight for peace... I will fight for security - the kind that will allow the IDF to use its considerable might."
