MENA: Egypt convicts 14 for assaulting public officials

CAIRO - An Egyptian military court convicted 14 Egyptians of assaulting officials during a June ceremony to honor "martyrs" in this year's uprising that ousted President Hosni Mubarak, the state MENA news agency said on Wednesday.
The 14 were among a group that attacked the Balloon Theater in Cairo after they were stopped from attending the ceremony honoring some of the 840 people killed in the uprising.
The incident triggered clashes between police and demonstrators in Cairo's Tahrir Square in which more than 1,000 people were wounded.
