Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with US envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell in Jerusalem on Sunday. In the course of the meeting, which lasted for over an hour, Netanyahu and Barak met with Mitchell to continue talks "to advance the peace process," a statement from the prime minister's office said. Mitchell met with Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas late last week before traveling to Cairo over the weekend to meet with Egyptian officials. Israeli officials Yitzhak Molcho and Michael Herzog are to travel to Washington this week for further discussions.
