The Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday convicted two brothers, Yusuf and Bassel Abu-Taiyeh, from the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, of attempted murder and arms dealing.
The two admitted to planting a bomb next to the Old City's Lion's Gate intended to kill IDF soldiers on patrol in the area. The bomb exploded in November 2000, injuring three border policemen.
The two were apprehended during a protest against IDF Operation Cast Lead.
