UN Watch urges US to keep Libya off Human Rights Council

UN Watch has sent a petition to the US ambassador to the United Nations, urging her to ensure that Libya is kept off the UN Human Rights Council in the upcoming May 13 elections.
"As the leader of the free world, and as a key new member of the UN Human Rights Council, the United States should lead an urgent campaign to stop the murderous Libyan regime of Col. Moammar Gaddafi from being elected to this influential 47-nation body," read Tuesday's petition by the NGO to Ambassador Susan Rice. "Electing Gaddafi would be only one more nail in the council's rapidly diminishing credibility."
