Welfare ministry launches program to help Haredi women start their own business

The Ministry of Welfare recently launched a program helping Haredi women establish their own business.
The program, which was developed in the town of Elad, provides Haredi women exposure to the business world with a variety of workshops on entrepreneurship, marketing, and business strategy, while social workers accompany them through the process.
Participants also receive private consultations with advisers who help them shape their professional objectives and formulate a detailed business plan in order to open their own business.
Welfare Minister Meir Cohen welcomed the initiative and said that the program is important in that it helps Haredi women integrate the workforce and  achieve economic independence.
"The Ministry is constantly working for the empowerment of women in general and particularly Haredi women, through various programs,” he added.
