Zionist Union MK Peretz to quit Livni's party, return to Labor

Zionist Union MK Amir Peretz told the leader of his Hatnua Party, MK Tzipi Livni, that he intends to run with Labor in the next election, Channel 2 reported Friday night.
The Zionist Union is a joint list of Labor and Hatnua. Peretz, a former Labor leader, left the party in 2012 for Hatnua because he opposed the leadership of then-Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich.
But he told Livni that he now believes his future is in Labor and that the two parties should merge. Yacimovich welcomed him back to the party and said he belongs in Labor.
