The sewing machines in Tal Amlani's workshop in Kibbutz Shamir never cease to work. For the past month, Amlani and other people have been working on a voluntary basis, sewing various accessories for reservists who were called up at the beginning of the war and stationed at the northern border.

Amlani's workshop in Kibbutz Shamir in Upper Galilee is called "The Hard Worker." Before the war, he taught children and teenagers a variety of handicrafts, such as carpentry, sewing, embroidery, and more. His aim was to encourage children not to be on screens and instill in them a love for different crafts.

However, in the last month, the workshop has taken on a new purpose and is now dedicated to supporting איק soldiers in the field.

It all began when reservists started inquiring about where to sew straps for a heavy machine gun. Hearing about Amlani's skills, they were directed to him. Since then, his name has been passed around by word of mouth among reservists in the area, who now visit the workshop daily with special requests.

The requests vary greatly, from covering tarpaulins for vehicles and creating various means of camouflage to replacing backpack straps. Amlani proudly fulfills each request with precision.

'Incredible support'

"The support we receive here is incredible," one reservist said. "Regular army units have facilities that sew the necessary equipment for soldiers, but for us reservists, such resources don't exist. Tal solves many of the problems we encounter."

The soldiers often offer to pay for the assistance they receive, but Amlani politely declines. However, he now appeals to those who can assist in purchasing raw materials, as it will enable him to continue supporting the soldiers. Donations can be made by contacting him at 050-5644111.
