Four people were killed in a road accident in Haifa on Saturday involving a single vehicle.
Police said the car smashed into a cement wall around the air force’s technical school, in Haifa’s bay area, and burst into flames.
The four occupants were instantly killed. Firemen who arrived on the scene doused the fire, and after several minutes extracted the burned bodies.
By the time emergency responders reached the site of the crash, all that remained of the vehicle was a burned-out shell, and twisted wreckage.
The casualties were named as cousins Murad Orabi, 20, Shadi Orabi, 15, and their friends Shadi Suri, 26, and Ahmed Amar, 26.
Traffic police have said the accident was likely caused by human error, adding that it was probably traveling at high speed prior to the collision.
They were investigating whether reports that the driver might have been inebriated.
“When I got to the scene the car was in flames. I approached the scene and saw a horrific site,” Critical Care Unit paramedic Hilik Moyal told Ma’ariv on Saturday.
Moyal added that he had canceled a call for two additional ambulances to arrive at the scene.
