Honduras and Guatemala, the latter of which has an embassy in Jerusalem, are among the countries that received donated vaccine doses from Israel, diplomatic sources confirmed.

"It was decided to help with a symbolic amount of vaccines for medical staff of the Palestinian Authority and some countries that asked Israel.”

The new caucuses were set up in Honduras, Central Africa Republic, South Sudan and Cameroon. Honduras agreed to set up the caucus on Tuesday evening.

"Israel and the Home Front Command will continue to lend a hand to any country that needs our help anywhere in the world," said Col. (res.) Golan Wach.

The Central American country "regularly supports Israel in international forums" and "has recently made the decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem."

Hit by the hurricane's severity, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama applied to Israel for humanitarian aid, and Israel responded affirmatively.

In Honduras, families waded through flooded streets of the northern city of San Pedro Sula, while cars sat almost submerged in parts of the central Guatemalan city of San Pedro Carcha

Vice Minister of Foreign Relations Eduardo Hernandez called on the government of neighboring Honduras to step up efforts to stop the flow of migrants headed to the US due to health concerns.

Currently there are two foreign embassies in Jerusalem, with the United States having moved its embassy in May 2018, followed by Guatemala.
