Ashkelon: 3 suspected of pushing disabled vet into sea

Three men aged 21 were arrested on Monday night on suspicion of pushing a disabled IDF veteran, who was standing on a wall fishing on Ashkelon's promenade, into the sea in an unprovoked attack.
The fisherman, who had lost a hand during his combat service, began drowning, but was saved by other fisherman who heard his cries for help.
An investigation by Ashkelon police found that the suspects arrived in a vehicle, when one man got out, snuck up behind the victim, and pushed him into the water, while his friends filmed the brutal incident on their cellphone cameras.
Detectives traced the suspects within a short while of the attack and arrested them.
"This was a severe incident which could have ended in disaster," Ashkelon police chief Dep.-Cmdr. Haim Buvlil said following the arrests.
