Car share company Car2go coming to Ra’anana

Car share company Car2go will be starting a pilot project in Ra’anana in the coming days, the municipality said Monday. The company began operations in Tel Aviv at the end of March 2009.

Car share companies offer the opportunity to rent a car for hours instead of days. Members can pick up a car from a designated parking spot on a city street to run errands or go outside the city. In Ra’anana, eight cars will be available and eight parking spots have been designated.

The idea behind car share companies is to reduce the need for private automobiles in urban areas.
