Egyptian officials to visit Abbas to try to restart talks

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit and head of Egyptian Intelligence Omar Suleiman plan to visit Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Thursday, Israel Radio reported.

Arab media sources reported that the purpose of the visit is to convey a message from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak as a part of an attempt to salvage peace talks.
