Interior Minister Eli Yishai on Wednesday called on the public to use their power of boycott to protest planned price hikes.

Responding to the plan to raise the prices of hundreds of products, Yishai commented: "The paradox of the Super-Sol message this morning of record profits in income on the one hand, and the announcement of a price increase on the other, can only be solved through a public boycott."

Super-Sol supermarket and other chains intend to raise the prices of their products in November.
