Major General Benny Gantz, who was the former deputy chief of staff, said that his selection as a candidate for police chief was done without his desire or consent, Israel Radio reported Sunday.

Gantz said he does not see himself as a candidate for the position and that no one has turned to him about it. He added that the list of police candidates nominated for the job was worthy and professional.
