Germany, US praise terrorism cooperation

WASHINGTON — Germany's foreign minister Guido Westerwelle and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton are praising US-German cooperation as the two country's investigate an alleged terrorism plot on European targets.

The officials spoke after a meeting in Washington Wednesday.

European security officials have said that intelligence has raised concerns about a group in Pakistan planning a coordinated attack on cities in Britain, France and Germany. Clinton and Westerwelle would not comment on the reports.

They said their meeting focused on topics including NATO's future, Middle East peace and Turkey's strategic importance.
