IMI delivers last of upgraded tanks to Turkey

Israel Military Industries (IMI) delivered the last of 170 tanks it upgraded for the Turkish military in a ceremony in the city of Kayseri.

Under a $687.5 million dollar deal signed in 2002, IMI and Elbit Systems upgraded 170 M60A1 tanks for the Turkish military equipping them with new electronic systems and steel reinforcement. The ceremony was attended by Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul and Israeli Defense Ministry Dir.-Gen. Udi Shani.
